Introducing Pacific FC Youth: A Unified Pathway for the Island's Top Talent

Pacific FC is proud to introduce Pacific FC Youth, the new identity for all of our youth development programs on Vancouver Island. Formerly known as Van Isle Wave, this rebrand brings every stage of our youth system under the Pacific FC name, creating a unified pathway for players from grassroots soccer all the way to the professional level.

For many years, Van Isle Wave has been the home for some of the Island’s top young players, competing in the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) - the highest level of youth soccer in British Columbia. Now, as Pacific FC Youth, the program will continue to provide elite training and competition while more closely connecting players to the club, its first team, and the broader Pacific FC community.

“We’re extremely excited at the opportunity to bring all of our youth programs under the Pacific FC identity,” said Richie Grant, Technical Director of Pacific FC. “By creating a clear and unified pathway, we’re ensuring every young athlete will have an environment to develop and prepare for the next step in their journey.”

The rebrand reflects Pacific FC’s commitment to the next generation of Island talent, ensuring that when players wear the crest, they know they are part of something bigger, with opportunities that can lead to university, national teams, and even the professional game.

With the BCSPL season kicking off this weekend (September 6th), excitement is already building. Our Pacific FC Youth players continue to showcase the strength of the pathway with recent achievements:

• Six athletes from our 2008 Cohort represented Team BC at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John's, Newfoundland in early August

• Our 2008 Boys captured the BCSPL Regular Season Title & BC Soccer Premier Cup this past June

• 14 2007 Girls earned university scholarships across North America following the conclusion of their final BCSPL season

• Two members of our 2008 Boys made their professional debuts with Pacific FC this season - Mattias Vales & Venny Chernyshev
