Introducing Jodi Grant, VI Wave Development Programs Lead

Updated: Nov 1

As we prepare for our annual Women & Girls in Sport Match, we wanted to highlight the amazing women who work at Pacific FC and make our organization great. This series will aim to shine a light on the importance of inclusivity in the professional sports landscape in the lead up to our Women & Girl in Sport Match this Saturday, August 17th.

Jodi Grant joined Pacific FC following a 20 year Division I playing and coaching career at both The University of Memphis and California State University Bakersfield, CSUB. All totaled during her time in Tennessee, Grant competed in 5 NCAA Division I National Tournaments, won 5 consecutive Conference USA Championships (2007-11), ranked as high as 3rd nationally with a school season record of 21-1-1, coached 5 All-Americans and 5 Academic/Scholar All-Americans, and made a name for herself coaching in club, state, regional and national circuits.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Grant joined the Tridents as the Development Programs Lead with Van Isle Wave working with players in areas such as speed and agility, performance and university pathway.

“Moving back to Canada in the last year, I am fortunate to continue my love for this game and my passion to have a positive impact on the next generation of players.”

Grant encourages women considering starting a career in sports to find what sport brings them joy and put all their efforts into being the best version of themselves, while continuing to love the game. Having spent the majority of her professional career in the sporting world, she’s well equipped to handle the high’s and low’s of the industry.

“My experience working as a woman in sport has been a learning opportunity to bring confidence and my self-worth with me in every interaction I have. To know my hard work and experience has given me a place in this environment and that I can continue to work to impact others positively through the love and passion of sport.”
